For the past week or so I’ve been going NUTS about the lil’ homie Romeir Elliott not being on the Mr. Football Finalist list when he clearly had the best season of anybody breathing playing Indiana high school football in 2018. However, I’m ready to move on now because it’s obvious that the fix is in and there’s nothing we can do about.
Let’s not talk about what’s not real let’s talk turkey! Let’s talk what’s as real as it gets! FACTS!!! TRUTH!! Let’s talk about who the GOAT is of high school athletes to come out of the state of Indiana. That’s bigger than some Award that a newspaper gives annually that comes down to politics and emotions.
Who’s the best athlete to EVER do it? I call him The Incomparable David Bell!!! The Warren Central Athletic Department tweeted the realist piece of information ever tweeted about a student-athlete over night and there’s nothing you can say to dismiss the truth.

David Bell is, in my opinion, one of THEE most accomplished student athletes in the history of Indiana high school sports. He’s a 4-Time Max Preps All-American, US Army All-American, Gatorade Player of the Year. He’s been an undefeated IHSAA State Champ in two sports; football & basketball in the same year!!!
Sure, we’ve seen cats become All-Americans and ball out in one sport but we’ve never seen a boy ball like that in two. He’s an All-State hooper!!! We’ve seen cats lead their teams to state titles but we’ve never seen them do it in two sports in the same year. Naw playa, David Bell is the G.O.A.T. when it comes to Indiana High School Sports. I’ve seen a lot of bad boys in my day but no one as accomplished or was more talented all the way around than David Bell.
Now out of the four remaining finalists for the Mr. Football Award David Bell is by far the best player but we all now that emotions politics, Class 1 through 6 shot callers, and geography plays a factor in the voting. However, you can’t vote on the FACTS!!! Win or lose the Mr. Football Award The Incomparable David Bell is the G.O.A.T. and no one can vote on that. No one can take what he’s been able to accomplish over the last four years away. And guess what playa? He’s not finished yet. He’s still got basketball to play this year. Stop me when I start lyin’!
RARELY do I comment on the politics of HS sports. As a mother of 3 above average athletes (2 of which play(ed) D1 level) and the wife of a former PRO, I feel both embarrased and ashamed at the blatant disrespect David Bell AND the MIC conferrence continues to receive from our own IHSA as well as the Indy Star sports reporter(s) who are more concerned about appeasing the folks paying for their papers/jobs than selecting THE BEST TALENT! To be the best you must compete against the best and the MIC was, is and will always have the best and HIGHEST LEVEL of competition in Indiana HS Sports!! They just turned the Mr. Football award into no more than a participation trophy! To D Bell – You are a class act! Thank God these racest Hoosiers don’t determine your future young man! LEAVE Indiana and continue to be the G.O.A.T in a place that will let you sore because you see how they’ve held Reese Taylor back!! Can’t wait to watch you play on Sundays!
