Drake once said, “I’ve never been reckless – it’s always calculated. I’m mischievous, but I’m calculated.” Angelina Jolie broke it down like this, “I’ve been reckless, but I’m not a rebel without a cause.” Then Charles Duhigg, the journalist and non-fiction author, put it where the goats could get it when he spit, “Between calculated risk and reckless decision-making lies the dividing line between profit and loss.”
Well playas…Cam Newton was makin’ more reckless decision-makin’ than calculated risks this off-season when he rented a boy’z mansion in California and trashed the joint. Ole boy is bein’ sued right now for more than $270K for damages to a crib he rented for just 61 days this past off-season. He paid $123K to rent the house which is a little more than $61K and some change per month for y’all that’s checkin’. Accordin’ to court documents the manager of the property had to replace a rug valued, at get this bruh, $32,930!!! It goes on to say that ole boy destroyed bath towels and linens, damaged toilets and water damage to wood floors, damage to the walls near the kitchen and stains in the driveway. How do you tear up the toilets bruh?
Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! This is how boyz end up broke after their careers are over. Yeah, I know that Cam just signed a $118 million deal back in 2015 with a $22.5 million signin’ bonus and $60 million GUARANTEED with a $10 million option bonus. Yeah, yeah, yeah!!! I know that bruh! But when you’re actin’ a fool like this and recklessly spendin’ bread like that you’re gonna end up lookin’ like Antoine Walker, who blew through more than $150 million! Oh I’m lyin’ and talkin’ crazy? Go holler at Vin Baker, who’s managin’ a darn Starbucks right now because he went through his $150 million.
Keep in mind that this is just one incident with Cam bruh! If he’s spendin’ money like that and then tearin’ up folks property he’s outta control in other aspects of his life too. C’mon playa!
Oh, I guess y’all haven’t read the Sport Illustrated article from March of 2009 entitled “How (And Why) Athletes Go Broke” that breaks it all down? In this joint it says that by the time they have been retired for two years, 78% of former NFL players have gone bankrupt or are under financial stress because of joblessness or divorce. It goes on to say that within five years of retirement, an estimated 60% of former NBA players are broke.
Now if Cam is rentin’ cribs and tearin’ them up how long is it gonna take for him to be broke! Again, this is just the one incident we’re heard about bruh. He could be pullin’ a Vince Young on us too. Oh, y’all didn’t hear about how that dun went broke?
Sit down playa and read this foolishness!! Vince Young went into to a T.G.I. Friday’s once and spent $6K for he and his teammates! Bruh…nothin’ on the menu costs more than $12!! Are you kidding me? Not to mention he spent $5K at the Cheesecake Factory on he and his boyz. Here’s the one that blew my mind though. In 2007 on a flight from Nashville to Houston this dun bought every seat on the plane so that he could be alone! You read that right pimpin’! He bought EVERY seat on the airplane so that he could be alone!!! He ran through $26 million in a matter of 7 years and filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
So if Cam’s spendin’ money and tearin’ up joints with no regard then he’s standin’ on the corner with his thumb up tryin’ to get in the ride with duns like Vin, Antoine, Vince and hundreds of other former pro athletes that are sittin’ around lookin’ crazy today. Stop me when I start lyin’!
1) Spit: verb – to say
2) Dun: noun – the person in question, dude, guy, etc. It’s whoever I’m talkin’ about and its non-gender specific.
3) Put it where the goats can get it: verb phrase – to make it as elementary as possible. To put it at ground level so everyone can understand it.
