Everybody and their baby’s momma is still talkin’ about the fact that Colin Kaepernick hasn’t been signed after becomin’ a free agent back in March. Even his former 49ers teammates are soundin’ off. Carlos Hyde had this to say, “I am surprised. I’ve seen some quarterbacks [that] got signed that Kap is way better than, in my opinion. But I’m not a GM. I’m not a head coach. So that’s out of my league.”
Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! Where are these cats from? C’mon playa you know the drill!! Big Momma and Pops gave us the 411 when we started school! “You’ve got to be 400 percent better in this world in order to be considered half as good and you’ve got to make sure all eyes are dotted and all T’s are crossed. Why? Because you’ll never be judged by the same standard as a white person in America.” Now he either didn’t listen to that speech or chose not to remember it but he definitely heard it.
Now has Kaepernick done anything wrong? ABSOLUTELY NOT!! He had every right to protest the treatment of unarmed black men bein’ killed by police officers all over this country and the fact that they weren’t bein’ fired, arrested or indicted for their actions. The First Amendment gives him the right to free speech and protest.
The only thing that dun did wrong was to opt out of a freakin’ $14.5 million GUARANTEED contract for next season to go into free agency on March 2nd! What sense did that make?
Did he not know that he upset the mainstream of America? Again, I had no problem with what he did but when you jump out there you gotta know what it is playa. Did he not know that owners were goin’ to be afraid to mess with him like that? Did he not remember what color his skin was or how some folks in this country would perceive him to be? Yes, I know that the dun is biracial. But the some of these folks judgin’ him don’t know or don’t care about that because all they’re doin’ is lookin’ at him. Boyz can check whatever box on the application they want but please understand that unfortunately the world’s perception of you will be that you’re black whether you choose to identify with it or not. When mainstream America see’s you they don’t see biracial they see a black person. I didn’t make the rules bruh I just live in this world.
It’s all good when everything is goin’ good. But step outta line with what the mainstream or the majority of folks think isn’t the right thing to do. Boyz will give you a real big piece of humble pie.
Colin Kaepernick is learnin’ that lesson right now. Don’t ever give up GUARANTEED bread to bet on yourself because you don’t control whether you’ll get signed or not. The owners have to answer to the sponsors and the fans. If they think that the sponsors and fans won’t spend money then they won’t sign Kaepernick. Or if they eventually sign him it will be for little or nothin’. So if they get the backlash, they haven’t spent a fortune to get him.
Do I agree with this foolishness? Well, when I put my business hat on I wouldn’t spend a lot of money on him either because he’s not an elite quarterback any longer. He’s definitely not worth $14.5 million dollars for one year, I’ll tell you that. Most importantly, he’s a grown man that left $14.5 million on the table. That shows that he doesn’t make very good decisions and as a quarterback I’ve gotta have a dun that makes better decisions than that.
So what lesson do we learn here playboy? Never give up bread that you’ve ALREADY earned regardless of your skin color to try to make a point. Stop me when I start lyin’!
1) Dun: noun – the person in question, dude, guy, etc. It’s whoever I’m talkin’ about and its non-gender specific.
The G is excluded from the endings of all words because the G is near and dear to my heart because I’m from “The G” which is Gary, Indiana. So I only use the G when I’m talkin’ about “The G!”
