Why America’s racial divide was on full display durin’ the Mayweather vs. McGregor fight! “Patriotic?”

William Hazlitt once said, “The only vice that cannot be forgiven is hypocrisy. The repentance of a hypocrite is itself hypocrisy.” Tennessee Williams, the famous playwright, broke it down like this, “The only thing worse than a liar is a liar that’s also a hypocrite!” Then Charles Spurgeon poured out a lil’ liquor for all the dead homies when he spit, “Sincerity makes the very least person to be of more value than the most talented hypocrite.”

Well playas…there were a lot of talented hypocrites walkin’ around over the weekend as boyz were watchin’ the Mayweather vs. McGregor fight. Why do I say that? Because for the past year all I’ve heard from Kaepernick haters is that the dun isn’t loyal to his country. Boyz have been hollerin’ that ole boy was disrespectful to the flag and the military for actually doin’ what the flag and military represent. He was exercisin’ his constitutional right to peaceably protest.

So duns lookin’ for a reason to justify their hate of Kaepernick have been callin’ him unpatriotic. So conveniently enough there was a huge international event in Las Vegas over the weekend with an American fightin’ an Irishman. But to no one’s surprise very few of those same so-called patriots hatin’ on Kaepernick were cheerin’ for the American. Why is that bruh?

Well let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! If we’re screamin’ about boyz bein’ patriotic and lovin’ this country why is it that the lines were drawn in the sand for the most part black vs. white? If we’re all American then why weren’t all Americans cheerin’ for the American? Because unfortunately, it all comes back down to the common denominator of race. That’s sad bruh.

What blows my mind is that nobody is willin’ to admit it and the only way that we’re goin’ to make progress in this country is for people to have a real conversation on race and culture in America. Yeah, I know that it was just a stupid fight that means nothin’ in the grand scheme of things but was it just a stupid fight or was it a reality check for race and culture in America?

Why is it that most white folks we’re cheerin’ for Conor McGregor and most black folks were cheerin’ for Floyd? It was just a stupid fight but the reality of our racial divide in America was on full display. All I know is that boyz should stop hollerin’ about Kaepernick not bein’ patriotic if they couldn’t cheer for the American on Saturday night. That’s like pullin’ for the Irish to beat the American swimmer durin’ the Olympic Games. I’m just sayin’ and stop me when I start lyin’!

Playas Thesaurus:

1) Spit: verb – to say

2) Dun: noun – the person in question, dude, guy, etc. It’s whoever I’m talkin’ about and its non-gender specific.

3) To pour out a lil’ liquor: verb phrase – the hood’s way of givin’ honor to the dead.

The G is excluded from the endings of all words because the G is near and dear to my heart because I’m from “The G” which is Gary, Indiana. So I only use the G when I’m talkin’ about “The G!”
