Indianapolis- Marian University men’s basketball put up a great second half as the Knights roll to 79-66 win at home against the Grace College Lancers. The Knights have been on a roll to start the second half of the season as they improve to 13-6 on the season, and 3-4 in Crossroads League play.

The first half Marian felt like there was a lid on the basket. They went down 8-2 to start the game and got down as much as 12 in the first half. With 6:12 left to go in the first half and Grace with the lead 30-17 the Knights started to gain momentum. The Knights went on a 10-0 run to cut the lead to 5 causing a Lancer timeout. They went on to go into halftime just down two behind the leadership of the Junior Wes Stowers leading all scorers with 33 points (one point shy of tying career high), 4 rebounds, and 8 assists.

The second half was electrifying for the Knights. Whatever Coach Heady said at half time worked. The Knights went head to head with the Lancers with 3 lead changes up until the 8:06 mark in the second half. At that point the Knights went on a 11-0 run sparked by a down the middle dunk by Andrew Jordan. Jordan finished with 16 points and 7 rebounds. Also, the big man down low Reginald Kissoonlal 9 points, 7 rebounds, and single game school record of 8 blocks.

Marian went on to hang on to the double-digit lead for the final 5:30, and ending it in entertaining fashion with a one-handed alley-op catch from Sterling Brown to Kissoonlal.

The Knights will take a few days off then back in action as they will travel to Huntington Saturday in Crossroads League play. That game will be set to tip at 3:00 p.m.
