Victor Oladipo proves me right with protest prediction in NBA! “Solidarity”

"It's about to be Chris Brown up in this piece! "On and Poppin'!"

Lech Welesa, the retired Polish labor activist, once said, “The sole and basic source of our strength is the solidarity of workers, peasants and the intelligentsia, the solidarity of the nation, the solidarity of people who seek to live in dignity, truth, and in harmony with their conscience.” Jeane Kirkpatrick, the former American Ambassador, gave it to us like this, “Solidarity was the movement that turned the direction of history, I think.” Then Bobby Seale, the political activist, put it where the goats could get it when he spit, “You don’t fight racism with racism, the best way to fight racism is with solidarity.”

Well playas…I told you boyz several weeks ago that boyz weren’t goin’ to let Colin Kaepernick take all of the arrows and bullets alone for his protest. We’ve seen over the past couple of weeks at NFL games that other players have joined in on the protest by either sittin’ or kneelin’. One cat even threw up his fist. Even U.S. National Soccer player, Megan Rapinoe, kneeled again Thursday night before their exhibition game against Thailand. It’s called solidarity bruh!

So when OKC guard Victor Oladipo told Complex Sports this week that he believes that Kaepernick’s protest of the National Anthem would in fact carry over into the NBA it proved my Crazy Hot Joint entitled “Tip” spot on when I said that the media is underestimatin’ the power of the black pro athlete was spot on! Here’s specifically what ole boy said:

“Oh, no question. I truly believe it will. Because at the end of the day it’s a sport, and people are gonna be looking at some guys in the NBA to see what they’re gonna do as well. At the end of the day you just control what you can control, so your opinion is your opinion, that’s the beauty of the United States, so, do whatever you feel is best that will help you do whatever you believe.”

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! When Colin initially sat down I said just wait until hoop season! Why? Because basketball players have the MOST power when it comes to professional athletes in this country!! Why? Because they’ve got GUARANTEED contracts and the NBA markets players and not teams!! The fact that a boy has a guaranteed contract means that he doesn’t care what the public thinks of him. Why? Because whether you like him or not he’s gonna get his bread.

He’s not Ryan Lochte, Michael Phelps or some Olympic athlete that is dependent upon endorsement money to survive. If a dun is makin’ $20 million per season he’s gonna get it whether he sits or stands for the National Anthem. That’s a problem bruh because cats will take this opportunity and run with it if people keep refusin’ to have positive dialogue around the actual issue at hand. The issue isn’t boyz sittin’ or kneelin’ durin’ the National Anthem. The issue is racial inequality and the fact that SOME police are gettin’ away with murder, still bein’ employed and never missin’ a pay check while entire police unions fully support their wrong doin’.

Yep! The NBA season looks to be an interestin’ one right out of the gate. Stop me when I start lyin’!

Playas Thesaurus:

1) Spit: verb – to say

2) Dun: noun – the person in question, dude, guy, etc. It’s whoever I’m talkin’ about and its non-gender specific.

3) Put it where the goats can get it: verb phrase – to make it as elementary as possible. To put it at ground level so everyone can understand it.
