Just two months into the NBA season the Indiana Pacers have proved everybody and their baby’s momma wrong, includin’ me! When they made the trade for Victor Oladipo and Damontas Sabonis for Paul George, I thought Kevin Pritchard and Co. were sabotagin’ the team to send PG to the wilderness to make him miserable. And maybe they were but the Pacers have made out like a fat rat in the projects.
They’re 17-13 right now after goin’ out to Brooklyn and knockin’ off the Nets on Sunday night 109-97. Can you believe that they’ve won 17 ball games already? I gave them 25 all season after what looked like a terrible trade.
Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! Oladipo told me durin’ trainin’ camp that he was comin’ in with a brick on his shoulder. Not just a rock bruh but a brick because he had somethin’ to prove.
Well playboy…he’s provin’ that everybody was wrong and that he’s a legitimate superstar in this league. He put up 26 points to lead the Pacers past Brooklyn but at this point of the season who’s surprised by his efforts? The dun is averagin’ 24 points per game and has established himself as the team leader, alpha male and franchise player.
Remember when duns were in desperation mode just before trainin’ camp talkin’ about buildin’ the team around Myles Turner? Remember that? That’s why I was like, Myles Turner? He’s a big!! You can’t build a team around a big in 2017. The game’s changed too much for that. It’s not like he’s Anthony Davis that can do everything.
Thanks to Vic for comin’ and ballin’ out up to this point because he’s made them a legitimate playoff contender in the East and a very fun team to watch in the process. They’ve got Kyrie and Co. comin’ in tonight on the back end of a back to back at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. That should be fun to watch and stop me when I start lyin’!
