Tommy LaRussa is DEAD wrong about why brothers don’t play baseball! “Paint Dryin'”

"I'm talkin' crazy and don't realize that I'm talkin' crazy bruh!"

Dennis Miller once said, “I want to help the helpless, but I don’t want to help the clueless.” Douglas Coupland, the Canadian novelist and artist, gave it to us like this, “Workshops and seminars are basically financial speed dating for clueless people.” Then Neil deGrasse Tyson, the well-known astrophysicist, broke it down like a playa at a pimp convention when he spit, “No one is dumb who is curious. The people who don’t ask questions remain clueless throughout their lives.”

Well playas…Hall of Famer, Tommy LaRussa, is clueless because he simply hasn’t asked the right questions. This was on ESPN’s Dan LeBatard Show with Stugotz on Wednesday talkin’ like some kind of fool that just climbed out from underneath a rock. He says that he recognizes that there are issues that affect the black community with regard to Colin Kaepernick’s protest but he questions ole boy’z motives. Then he goes in on Baltimore Orioles star Adam Jones because Jones said that Major League Baseball wouldn’t have a problem with boyz sittin’ down on the Anthem because baseball is a white man’s game.

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! I’m not goin’ to keep beatin’ a dead horse with all of these duns that keep showin’ us who they are. Ever since the beginnin’ of the Civil Rights moment where black folks began to stand up against racial injustice in this country there has and will always be folks that are outraged by it. People are outraged because it disrupts the comfort that they live under because protest makes those that live in that comfort, uncomfortable. Nobody ever wants to discuss racial inequality etc. because it has no bearing on their lives. Therefore, in their minds it makes sense to just shove it off into a corner and leave it.

So let’s not even go there with this joint. Let’s talk about a boy that has made his entire livin’ in the Major Leagues tryin’ to tell a black man why he’s wrong about why black folks don’t play baseball. When Jones said that it was a white man’s game he was simply bein’ honest. Black folks don’t typically play the sport anymore! LaRussa interpreted that as him sayin’ that it was an elitist sport. Don’t take my word for it playboy. This is what the dun said out of his OWN mouth:

“When he says it’s a white, like elitist, kind of sport, I mean how much wronger can he be? We have tried so hard, the MLB, to expand the black athletes’ opportunity. We want the black athletes to pick not basketball or football, but want them to play baseball; they should play baseball. And we’re working to make that happen in the inner cities. We have a lot of Latin players. We have players from the Pacific Rim.”

How clueless can he be bruh? For him to interpret what Jones was sayin’ as the sport bein’ elitist makes the very point on some folks operatin’ with white privilege and not even realizin’ it. How dare you think that black folks NEED an opportunity to play a darn sport? Black folks aren’t playin’ baseball because it’s boring and NOBODY goes to the games until you get to the pro level!!

Black kids, especially boyz, play the sports that they get props and attention growin’ playin’. I’m not tellin’ you what I heard playboy! I’m tellin’ you what I know. Unless a kid is extremely head over heels in love with baseball by the time he gets to junior high he’s not continuin’ to play. Why? Because NOBODY goes to the darn games!! In junior high, high school and college NOBODY cares about the darn baseball team in the inner city, hood or on a college campus.

Boyz play the sports that the GIRLS go to see! That’s football, basketball and track! That’s why in college they call baseball a non-revenue producin’ sport! There is no attention given to it. Why play a sport that you can’t get love for? That’s stupid!! It’s too much work to show up on game day and not see any women or your homeboys givin’ you love. Therefore, black kids don’t play it. It has nothin’ to do with opportunity. It doesn’t cost any money to play baseball bruh! There are plenty of baseball fields in the hood. It’s a boring sport!!

Black kids want to play sports where they can use there athletic ability the entire game. In baseball you stand around more than you actually play. There are exceptions to the rule, but not many. That’s why there are only 69 African-American players on major league rosters. Most cats that play baseball it’s their second sport. Not their primary focus. And yes, I know that you can make more bread playin’ baseball and play longer but boyz aren’t hearin’ that. Especially after the TV revenues have gone through the roof in the NBA now. EVERYBODY’S gettin’ paid now. So simply put, most brothers aren’t playin’ baseball because it’s BORING!!!! Don’t take offense to that bruh! It is what it is.

If you don’t believe me. Walk into a black barber shop today and sit down. They’re arguin’ and debatin’ sports from the time the joint opens until it closes and they aren’t talkin’ about baseball. Why? Because it’s BORING!!! It’s like watchin’ paint dry! Get a clue Tommy LaRussa before you start talkin’ crazy and puttin’ yourself on a pedestal. Stop me when I start lyin’!

Playas Thesaurus:

1) Spit: verb – to say

2) Dun: noun – the person in question, dude, guy, etc. It’s whoever I’m talkin’ about and its non-gender specific.

3) Put it where the goats can get it: verb phrase – to make it as elementary as possible. To put it at ground level so everyone can understand it.
