The Walter Scott mistrial reinforces the arrogance of Dabo Swinney! “Dismissed”

"And we better win in the College Football Playoff too!"

Martin Luther King Jr. once said, “Human progress is neither automatic nor inevitable… Every step toward the goal of justice requires sacrifice, suffering, and struggle; the tireless exertions and passionate concern of dedicated individuals.” Aristotle broke it down like this, “At his best, man is the noblest of all animals; separated from law and justice he is the worst.” Then Frederick Douglas pushed all of the dominoes off of the table when he spit, “Where justice is denied, where poverty is enforced, where ignorance prevails, and where any one class is made to feel that society is an organized conspiracy to oppress, rob and degrade them, neither persons nor property will be safe.”

Well playas….since we keep seein’ justice denied, poverty enforced and the ignorance of folks that don’t care prevailin’, it’s goin’ from bad to worse out here bruh. When police officers can continue to kill unarmed black men without bein’ the least bit reprimanded it does feel like an organized conspiracy to oppress, rob and degrade us.

On Monday the judge in the case of South Carolina police officer, Michael Slager, declared a mistrial. Ole boy was on trial for the murder of Walter Scott. He was actually seen on video tape shootin’ this man in the back as he was runnin’ AWAY from him. He was 18 feet AWAY, to be exact. Why was there a mistrial? Because one dun on the jury just couldn’t bring himself to convict a man that looked like him. There was only one black juror on the case and he was the foreman.

Now let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! I wanna holler at Clemson head football coach, Dabo Swinney, for a minute playa. Remember back in September when he was asked how he felt about Colin Kaepernick’s protest and he gave one of the most ignorant and arrogant answers a person could give? Dabo understood why ole boy was protestin’ too. Kaepernick was upset with the fact that black men and women were bein’ killed by police officers all over this country and none of them were losin’ their jobs, bein’ suspended without pay or most importantly, goin’ to jail as a result of this foolishness.

So Dabo Swinney, who has a football team full of young brothers had this to say, “Some of these people need to move to another country.”

To stand up in front of a group of people and actually say that some people need to move to another country is the ultimate in disrespect and arrogance. Especially, when he’s coachin’ a team full of black kids that feel the same way Walter Scott’s family feels about racial injustice in this country. Why? Because they’re livin’ it right now.

Here’s the crazy thing about it bruh, Clemson is in SOUTH CAROLINA!! Don’t think for one minute that somebody on his team doesn’t know Walter Scott’s family or knew Walter Scott himself. But for the head coach to stand up and patronize black folks like that and he’s coachin’ black players is beyond me. I blasted him at the time in a three-part series of Hot Joints entitled, “Protest,”  “Part 2” and “Part 3!” because I thought that of all people a coach that works with black kids everyday would at least try to understand how they feel about the foolishness they face on a daily basis.

Not only have those players seen Walter Scott gunned down but we can name dozens of other incidents that have occurred over the last few years where NOBODY has gone to jail as a result. Then the civilians are gettin’ in on this foolishness too. We just saw former NFL player, Joe McKnight, gunned down in front of eye witnesses and the white cat wasn’t initially charged. It’s OUTRAGEOUS!!! Only because of public outcry was he eventually arrested and charged with manslaughter. It was the same foolishness in the Trayvon Martin case.

However, Dabo has the nerve to stand in front of real live human beings and say, “I think this is a good world, This is a great country. It’s just things get painted with a broad bush these days. There’s a lot of good. There’s more good than bad in this world.”  There’s the arrogance of this man bruh! He’s tellin’ boyz how good this country is but he’s simply tellin’ it through his lens. He’s a white man livin’ in America makin’ for more $5 million per year coachin’ a game that he loves. Why wouldn’t America be great to him? Why wouldn’t this country be great in his eyes. He’s grown up in a system that is set up for him to succeed in and nobody is huntin’ him down.

Tell that to Walter Scott’s momma that just watched a jury mistrial because some dun couldn’t see the human being that was shot in the back and killed by a coward. All they could see was the “human being” that looked like them goin’ to jail as a result of the verdict. Wrong is wrong bruh! I don’t care what color you are.

If that scenario would have been reversed the black man would have been sittin’ in a prison cell convicted by now. We all know that to be the truth. So how does Dabo look his players in their eyes today knowin’ that he completely dismissed them in his arrogance three months ago? Unfortunately, when he opened his mouth he told them that he really didn’t care about them as long as they won HIM football games. Then and only then could they be cool.

Here’s the hard truth Dabo. If everybody that were upset about the injustice in America were to move to another country there wouldn’t be an America bruh. Why? Because it was built on the backs of the oppressed. Just in case you forget playboy. Free labor built this country. You wouldn’t be coachin’ football for a livin’, you’d be sellin’ insurance somewhere. Stop me when I start lyin’!
