That darn Oladipo Ain’t Nothin’ to Play With! Drags Pacers out of a 19 point hole to beat the Nets!

I started coverin’ basketball games at 11:30am Saturday mornin’ over at Manual High School. Some of the best talent from around the country was in town and I sure wasn’t goin’ to miss it. Actually, I covered five girls games on Friday at the same venue. After watchin’ my 4th game I took off and headed for Bankers Life Fieldhouse at 5pm to make the 5:15pm Nate McMillan pre-game interview. I was rockin’ from preps to pros playa and boy was it a great time!!

The Pacers were catchin’ Brooklyn on a back end of a back to back after the Nets straight up blasted the Wizards on Friday night. You know the drill, when a team is comin’ off a game the night before they’re usually a mess. So I figured the Pacers would make quick work of these cats and keep it movin’.

Now they eventually walked outta the joint with the “W” but they had to pull a miracle to get it done. When the smoke finally cleared they’d won 123-119 in overtime. However, I’d missed all of the action because I took off at half-time. They were gettin’ blasted 57-41 at the break, I was on my fifth hoop game of the day and there was no way I was goin’ to sit through an old fashioned butt whoopin’. I went to the crib and turned it on.

The first thing I said was, “That darn Victor Oladipo!!” Ole boy put the Pacers on his back and drug them out of a 19 point deficit finishin’ with 38 points and 6 assists. This cat right here is playin’ at an MVP-type level. It’s NUTS what he’s consistently doin’!

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! This Pacers team is so fun to watch this season and I’ll never doubt them again. They’re at least, in every ball game. Why would I have doubted them? I guess I’ll make a promise to myself not to cover 5 games in one day while foolin’ with the Pacers.

Oladipo has now a proven that he’s franchise player in these first two months of the season. He’s doin’ it all and the team loves him. Did I mention that he’s the fan favorite? When he gets goin’ everybody gets goin’!!

Nate McMilan always talks about havin’ a goal of 25 assists per game. Well playas…they finished with 31 assists. When the ball is movin’ everybody’s eatin’. Myles Turner rode shotgun finishin’ with 23 points, 9 rebounds and 6 blocks. Bojan Bogdanovic came out of the back seat with 17 points and 6 rebounds while Darren Collison hit ‘um up for 14 points and 9 assists. Then Lance “The Don Dada” came out of the bushes with 11 to keep Big Momma happy.

With nine new faces on this Pacers team and a brand new leader you can’t ever count them out of ball games. Well..unless you’re exhausted from watchin’ too many games in one day. Sorry big homies, I won’t dip out on you ever again. Stop me when I start lyin’!

Playas Thesaurus:

1) Dun: noun – the person in question, dude, guy, etc. It’s whoever I’m talkin’ about and its non-gender specific.

2) Ole boy: noun – the person that I’m currently talkin’ about.

3) Dip: verb – to leave

The G is excluded from the endings of all words because the G is near and dear to my heart because I’m from “The G” which is Gary, Indiana. So I only use the G when I’m talkin’ about “The G!”
