Some prominent black athletes diss Kaepernick for the All-Mighty Dollar! “Shameful”

"What that dun say bruh?"

Sigmund Freud once said, “The conscious mind may be compared to a fountain playing in the sun and falling back into the great subterranean pool of subconscious from which it rises.” James A. Baldwin gave it to us like this, “The paradox of education is precisely this – that as one begins to become conscious one begins to examine the society in which he is being educated.” Then Iyanla Vanzant, the inspirational speaker and lawyer, put it where the goats could get it when she spit, “What will support any relationship is clear, complete and conscious conversations when upsets or breakdowns occur.”

Well playas….for darn near a month Colin Kaepernick has been kneelin’ or sittin’ durin’ the National Anthem tryin’ to get you boyz to have a complete and conscious conversation about the racial injustices in America. However, more duns than not are more upset or solely upset at the fact that he’s kneelin’ instead of examinin’ why he’s kneelin’. I’ll let him tell you again bruh, “I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color. To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder.”

Now when ole boy said that darn near a month ago boyz that should have been conscious of the struggle acted like they weren’t for whatever reasons. Cat’s like Jerry Rice, Ray Lewis, Rodney Harrison, Shaq and sports journalist, Jason Whitlock, blasted the young brother for tryin’ to make life better for the generation of young brothers comin’ up behind him.

What all of these cats don’t realize, or maybe they do and just don’t care, is that they’re standin’ on the shoulders of couragous black folks that came before them. They were given the opportunity to be great and prosperous because of the sacrifices of Jackie Robinson, Muhammad Ali, Jim Brown, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, John Carlos and Tommie Smith (the two cats held up their fists at the ’68 Olympics) and so many others. Oh, I didn’t forget about you Jason Whitlock. The great Sam Lacy opened doors for you in the field of sports journalism bruh. And don’t think for one minute that he didn’t have to fight for everything that he got and that includes haven’ to protest at some point. So don’t act like you just walked in on your own merit and got a freakin’ job. Cat’s like Lacy and others made it possible for you to sit yo butt on somebody’s TV or radio show and give your backwards opinions.

It frustrates me that so many black folks find success on the backs of those that came before them and then turn their backs on the struggle. If you don’t think that it’s still a struggle out here then call the families of Michael Brown, Treyvon Martin, Eric Gardner, Sandra Bland, Tamir Rice, Philando Castile, Alton Sterling and so on and so forth.

These cats get on TV and act like their families are immune to gettin’ pulled over by the police, shot and killed. It’s crazy out here and we need those with platforms to be a voice for the voiceless.

Think about the attention that Colin Kaepernick has raised in the short month that he’s been at protest with the National Anthem. Can you imagine how huge it would be if he were actually startin’ and playin’ bruh? He’s a back up creatin’ this type of firestorm. What if duns like Jerry Rice actually stood up and said that he was unhappy with the way black folks have been treated by the police and were actually angry that they aren’t bein’ indicted, charged or tried for the deaths of these people? And yeah I know that the dun finally voiced his support on Twitter Tuesday weeks after he slammed ole boy. Mighty funny that another man had to lose his life before Jerry woke up. Too late bruh!!

What if Michael Jordan himself actually gave a darn (edited version) about what was goin’ on in the ghetto or what was actually happenin’ in the black community instead of worryin’ about his brand? What Mike doesn’t realize is that the Brand is in tack bruh! Do you know how much street cred Jordan has bruh? The Brand isn’t goin’ ANYWHERE!!! Do you know who’s buyin’ these shoes out here? But that’s why I’ve got no respect for him. Helluva basketball player but he ain’t worth two dead flies smashed the black community.

I just hope that people become just as outraged, all people, not just black folks, over the continued senseless killin’ of unarmed black men by the police. Instead of continuin’ to be outraged that boyz are actually progestin’ the senseless killin’ of unarmed black men at the hands of the police. Stop me when I start lyin’!

Playas Thesaurus:

1) Spit: verb – to say

2) Dun: noun – the person in question, dude, guy, etc. It’s whoever I’m talkin’ about and its non-gender specific.

3) Put it where the goats can get it: verb phrase – to make it as elementary as possible. To put it at ground level so everyone can understand it.

The caption under the photo isn’t real but its REAL talk!
