Last week Kevin Pritchard told the press that the Pacers weren’t tankin’, they were rebuildin’ and boyz respected him for actually sayin’ it. However, it’s all semantics bruh! What difference does it make if you call it rebuildin’ or tankin’? The end result will be the same. The Pacers will be lucky to win 20 games next year.
So I applaud a boy sayin’ that the organization isn’t purposely tryin’ to lose games to get better draft picks. However, their lack of effort in the front office since the All-Star break has resulted in the foolishness that we’ve seen take place over the past month.
Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! Everybody and their baby’s momma knew that Paul George wasn’t comin’ back after the 2017-18 season to go to LA back in February. So to act like he gut punched the team, accordin’ to Pritchard, was asinine. Then to not take the offers that both LA and Boston presented for PG was crazy.
Then they got caught in their emotions and agreed to a terrible deal with OKC to trade him for Oladipo and Sabonis. They couldn’t or wouldn’t re-sign Jeff Teague so he’s off to Minnesota for more bread. C.J. Miles opted out so instead of them losin’ their shirts on him just walkin’ away they agreed to a sign and trade to get Corey Joseph who wasn’t playin’ in Toronto anyway.
They waived Monta Ellis, who was worthless at this point and was about to cost them $11 million. So that was the only good thing they accomplished the entire offseason.
You know that you’ve got problems when you’ve only spent $65 million of the allowed $99 million on salaries and there’s no hope to land a big fish to make up for the rest of the bread you could spend.
When Victor Oladipo is the most expensive asset you’ve got it’s a problem. They payin’ that dun $21 million for the next four years and he’s not even an elite player. Then there’s Thaddeus Young, Al Jefferson and Lance “The Don DaDa” at the top of the list in terms of salaries and everybody else is makin’ $2.5 million or less. Darrin Collison hasn’t agreed to a contract yet.
So when Pritchard says that the Pacers aren’t tankin’, they’re rebuildin’ it all depends on what side of the street you’re watchin’ this car accident on. Whether a boy intended to run the light or not he still totaled Big Momma’s car and she can’t get to work today. So what difference does it make whether he tried to tear up the ride or not? The Pacers will win 20 games this year whether they intend to or not. The fans are still on the hook for the tickets that ain’t worth two dead flies smashed at this point. And who’s fault is that? The dun’s responsible for buyin’ the groceries. Stop me when I start lyin’!
1) Dun: noun – the person in question, dude, guy, etc. It’s whoever I’m talkin’ about and its non-gender specific.
The G is excluded from the endings of all words because the G is near and dear to my heart because I’m from “The G” which is Gary, Indiana. So I only use the G when I’m talkin’ about “The G!”
