Raiders not bein’ transparent with the Rooney Rule as they hire ole AVERAGE Jon Gruden! “Trippin’!”

Boyz are goin’ nuts about the news of the Oakland Raiders hirin’ Jon Gruden as their next head coach. Owner Mark Davis has completely gotten butt naked and is foamin’ at the mouth as he’s about to give ole boy an NFL history makin’ deal. They’re about to give him a 10 year deal worth darn near $100 million!!! There were even talks of them givin’ him an ownership stake which has to be approved by the other 31 owners of course. What!!!?

Now all types of cats are askin’ the question, “What’s up with the Rooney Rule process bruh?” They went head first into hirin’ ole boy without even acknowledgin’ as to whether they even hollered at any minority candidates.

The rule states that before an NFL team can make a hire they have to at least interview one minority candidate, especially African-American candidates, as established in 2003. The reason that the rule was put into place was because the brothers weren’t bein’ given the opportunity to get head coachin’ jobs in the NFL.

Until 1989 when Art Shell was hired by the Oakland Raiders the only other black head coach in NFL history that was Fritz Pollard who coached in the 1920’s!!! The rule was created after the firings of Tony Dungy by Tampa Bay and Dennis Green by Minnesota in 2002. The big homie Johnnie Cochran and his partner, Cyrus Mehri, released a study that told us what we already knew. Black head coaches, despite higher winnin’ percentages, were less likely to be hired and more likely to be fired than their white counterparts.

In other words, they put the pressure on the league to be more transparent with who they interview and to let boyz know they we’re watchin’ this foolishness. It’s sad that there has to be rules put in place for black folks to even get a seat at the table. It always blows my mind that people have a problem with affirmative action when white males were the only people benefiting durin’ the hirin’ process before it existed. Opportunities for minorities and women especially, have gone through the roof as a result. If these rules/laws weren’t in place we’d still only see white men runnin’ EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE.

So back to Jon Gruden just gettin’ the Raiders job without them hollerin’ at anyone else is straight bogus. Why? Because there isn’t anything special about him. He’s a freakin’ .500 coach!! As a head coach he’s 100-85 (.541) and he’s 5-4 in the playoffs!! Yeah the dun won a Super Bowl with Tampa Bay but Tony Dungy pulled the Bentley into the driveway for him with the Tampa 2 defense and all he had to do was put the car in the garage. Stop it.

Not only are they about to pay this cat ridiculous bread unheard of in the NFL but he’s an average coach at best!! It’s not like their about to hire Bill Belichick who’s won 5 Super Bowls, won 67 percent of his games and has won 72 percent of his playoff games. They aren’t about to hire Don Shula, George Halas, Vince Lombardi or somebody like that. I can see if they were about to make that type of splash with a boy that’s GUARANTEED to win but Jon Gruden? They’re hirin’ a dun that’s average at best and he hasn’t coached in 10 years.

It’s a shame that the Raiders aren’t willin’ to be transparent in this situation. There are so many up and comin’ coaches that are  probably much better than Jon Gruden and they would cost much less money. I’m just sayin’. Stop me when I start lyin’!

Playas Thesaurus:

1) Dun: noun – the person in question, dude, guy, etc. It’s whoever I’m talkin’ about and its non-gender specific.

2) Put it where the goats can get it: verb phrase – to make it as elementary as possible. To put it at ground level so everyone can understand it.

3) Ole boy: noun – the person that I’m currently talkin’ about.

The G is excluded from the endings of all words because the G is near and dear to my heart because I’m from “The G” which is Gary, Indiana. So I only use the G when I’m talkin’ about “The G!”
