Pike’s Lynna Irby sweeps the 100, 200 and 400 meters all four years! “Wheredeydodatat?”

Pike’s Lynna Irby pulled up in Bloomington for the 2017 Indiana High School Girls State Track and Field State Championships and all of a sudden the sounds of Tupac came outta nowhere! “All Eyes On Me!” The phenom from the Northwest side of Indy had walked into the buildin’ lookin’ for what belonged to her! She had no intentions of playin’ with these girls!

Give me that 100, 200 and 400 meters and y’all can keep the change! Ole girl not only won them all for the fourth year in a row but she “showed out” like Big Momma used to say.

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! Not only did she win the 100 meters but she set a meet record by blazin’ a 11.41 which topped the state meet record in which she set last year of 11.51. She was only a hair off of the all-time state best of 11.39 set by Warren’s Candyce McGrone at the Shelbyville Regional in 2008. Then she literally cruised in the 400 meters to win it with a 53.81! She couldn’t go all out because she had the 200 meters comin’ up! That’s NUTS!!!

So what did she do in the 200 meters? Set the darn track on fire and ran a 23.41 to win that joint too! The meet record set by North Central’s Maicel Malone in 1986 was 23.12. Now I know that if “If was a fifth we’d all be drunk!” but just think of what she could have done in each of these events had she only been runnin’ one of them. But when you’re that good it’s impossible for you to run in just one. It’s like tellin’ a boy to only eat one Jay’s Potato Chip.

This young lady scored all 30 of Pike’s points! Wheredeydodatat? Not only did she sweep the 100, 200 and 400 on Saturday but he swept them all four years bruh! That’s 12 individual state championships along with the team title in 2015. So she walked outta the joint with 13 state championships for her high school career. Again, wheredeydodatat?

Check this out bruh, the only other four-time champs EVER have been North Central’s Maicel Malone in the 100 and 400 meters from 1984-87, Jeffersonville’s Tonya Sedwick in the long jump from 1984-87, Brebeuf Jesuit’s Courtney Adams in the 1,600 meters from 1993-96 and Batesville’s Ellie Tidman in the high jump  from 2007-10. However NOBODY has swept three events four years in a row. Say it with me, wheredeydodatat?

With all of the attention on Irby on Saturday boyz almost missed the Warren Central girls run outta the joint with their second straight team title!! Goin’ into the final event they needed only 2 points to top then first place Hamilton Southeastern. Well playboy, they got 10 points by winnin’ the 1,600 meter relay in 3.48.55 on the final event to grab the title!! Talk about excitement down in Bloomington bruh! NUTS!!!

So join me in givin’ Lynna Irby and the Warren Central team a crazy shout out for representin’ Naptown to the fullest in the state meet! In my Big Momma voice, “Go on wit ya bad self!” Good at the University of Georgia!! We’ll be watchin’ and still cheerin’ you on! ONE!! And stop me when I start lyin’!

Playas Thesaurus:

3) ONE: noun – respect

The G is excluded from the endings of all words because the G is near and dear to my heart because I’m from “The G” which is Gary, Indiana. So I only use the G when I’m talkin’ about “The G!”
