Everybody and their Uncle LeRoy and Big Momma Lucy ran down to Bankers Life Fieldhouse on Saturday morinin’ to check out the best girls basketball teams in the state tip it off. No.1 North Central and No.3 Pike went at it and it was worth every bit of the time spent puttin’ on long Johns and extra layers of clothes to battle the cold. When the smoke finally cleared Pike walked outta of the joint with a 60-52 win over the No.1 team in the state.

North Central was without their leadin’ scorer Rikki Harris but point guard Savaya Brockington took the reigns and put up 20 points in 32 minutes of play.

Pike struggled in the first half with 12 turnovers which kept them from gettin’ into any type of rhythm. Angel Baker had 10 points at the half as the Red Devils were down 30-22.

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! Big Momma Lucy must have gone into the Pike locker room at the break, taken her wig off and cursed everybody out because they came out in the second half and went to work.

They only committed 4 turnovers the rest of the way and Angel Baker went NUTS on these girls!! She scored an additional 21 points to finish with 31 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Michaela White came out of the passenger side door with 14 as Kinnidy Garrard finished with 9.

North Central didn’t just fold up the tents bruh. They continued to battle the entire game with Ajah Stallings droppin’ off 16 points and playin’ some fire defense. Nakaih Hunter wasn’t just givin’ her Jordan’s up either as she finished with 12 points for the Lady Panthers.

It was a great ball game and you already know that we’ll see these two in the regionals and it should be a blast. Stop me when I start lyin’!

The G is excluded from the endings of all words because the G is near and dear to my heart because I’m from “The G” which is Gary, Indiana. So I only use the G when I’m talkin’ about “The G!”
