Pacers playin’ the game the right way blasts Vogel and Magic! “Comfortable”

In my Fat Joe voice, "I'm all the way up! Nothin' can stop me! I'm all the way up!"

James McAvoy, the Scottish actor, once said, “I take a lot of pride in being myself. I’m comfortable with who I am.” Les Brown, the motivational speaker, broke it down like this, “Your smile will give you a positive countenance that will make people feel comfortable around you.” Then Mark Twain pushed all of the marbles off of the table when he spit, “A man cannot be comfortable without his own approval.”

Well playas…the Indiana Pacers figured out that they cannot be comfortable until they’ve learned how to share the basketball. On Sunday night they jumped all over the Orlando Magic 117-104 because of that simple concept. Share the rock, make good basketball decisions and the game opens up for everybody. With 28 assists  as a team the game couldn’t have been any easier to play.

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st!  The Pacers came down the stretch of 2016 on a four game losin’ streak in which they snapped this past Thursday with a win over the Chicago Bulls. What was the difference in the way they played? They had 26 assists durin’ that ball game. So follow the formula and keep movin’ the ball! Why? Because it takes more stress off of the offense and duns aren’t lookin’ to carry the load. They can just play the darn game!! And that’s the edited version.

The young boy, Myles Turner, finished the night with a solid double-double droppin’ off 23 points and 12 rebounds. Paul George had 19 and 5 rebounds while Aaron Brooks came out of the wood work on a boy with 14. Jeff Teague held down the point with 12 and threw 9 dimes as Al Jefferson’s fancy footwork produced 12 points. On some real talk, that dun’s got some smooth feet for a big guy. He’s like poetry in the paint workin’ the blocks. And you already know Thaddeus Young isn’t goin’ to leave the fellas hangin’. He’s always comin’ through with something for the party as he hit a boy up for 10 points and some swag!!

Movin’ the rock takes so much stress off that the ball just falls easier. As a team they shot 50 percent from the field and 40 percent from behind the arc. Not only were they efficient shootin’ the ball they were just as efficient gettin’ the “un-guardable” points too. They were 22 of 24 from the free throw line.

It’s funny how playin’ the game the right way makes all of the difference in the world. Up next: The Pacers travel to Detroit on Monday where they’ve won 8 out the last 9 on their floor.

Stop me when I start lyin’!
