Well playas…pride broke the Pacers and Lance Stephenson up at the end of the 2014 season and humility brought them back together on Wednesday. After nearly two full seasons of separation both sides understood that they needed each other to survive. Larry Bird and the Pacers played hard to get and Lance got tired of boyz playin’ him crazy and takin’ him for granted.
So they broke up when neither one wanted to see it happen because they were great for one another and didn’t realize it until they started datin’ other folks. Now they’ve kissed and made up, holdin’ hands walkin’ through the mall rockin’ “I’m with him” t-shirts!
Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! Lance was the fire that kept the Pacers in the hunt when they were battlin’ the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals against LeBron and Co. BornReady was the energy that kept the buildin’ on it’s toes! They haven’t had a player like that since his departure.
Boyz tried to play him crazy for blowin’ in LeBron’s ear in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals and he held King James to 7 points and 24 minutes because he got LeBron so frustrated that he was in foul trouble all night! Lance was the reason why they even got to a Game 6 in Miami bruh! But boyz tried to play my man like he was the problem!!!
After they got beat in Miami the followin’ Monday Paul George said publicly in front of the media that Lance needs to tone it down. Then everybody else took two steps back from that dun too. Frank Vogel said that he was cool with ole boy tryin’ to listen in on Miami’s huddle but that he crossed the line when he blew in LeBron’s ear. What!!?
Then some dun asked PG the ultimate question of would he like to play with Lance Stephenson next year and the dun answered it like he grew up in the suburbs, in which he actually did. The dun had the audacity to say, “I don’t know!”
Strikes 1, 2, and 3 bruh! Even if Lance wanted to stay he couldn’t at that point because there’s beef in the locker room because nobody had his back for ballin’ out and shuttin’ down the King for at least one night anyway. He was the spark and nobody was willin’ to acknowledge it.
Then Larry Bird pulled the ultimate disrespect move on the Don DaDa! That’s what used to call ole. Larry told the media that he wanted to re-sign him but only for the right price. By simply sayin’ that he essentially told the world, “Ima offer this dun what Ima offer him and that’s it. We ain’t tryin’ to negotiate nothin’! He can take it or leave it! But oh by the way, I really want him on my team.” He didn’t even give the dun the courtesy of sittin’ down and negotiatin’ or even actin’ like he was goin’ to negotiate.
So ole boy bounced to Charlotte for a 3 year deal worth $27 million instead of takin’ the 5 year joint worth $44 million that the Pacers slid across the table at him. It wasn’t the contract it was the disrespect that he was shown not only by Larry Bird but by Frank and his teammate Paul George.
Now on some real talk, Lance got caught up in his emotions too. Indiana was the best place for him but he was in his feelings because boyz were playin’ him crazy. The worse mistake of his NBA career was leavin’ Indianapolis. Why? Because he bet on himself but there wasn’t anybody there to keep him from sabotagin’ himself while he was bettin’. So therefore, the dun bounce from Charlotte to the Clippers to New Orleans to Minnesota to sittin’ on the side lines waitin’ on a freakin’ try out, He tried out with Cleveland and God knows who else only to show back up in Indiana where they actually gave the dun some GUARANTEED bread.
Why? Because Indiana got desperate needed somebody to hold on to. It’a like the dun that breaks up with his girl to sow his wild oats. Then when the joint gets old and the options dry up boyz always call on old faithful hopin’ that she’s not in a relationship. They were like “Hello my I speak to Lance!” Lance was like, “Dis Lance! Who dis!” They both tryin’ to act like they ain’t interested but they’re both waitin’ on the other to say “I miss you and do you wanna go out.” Knowing’ that they’ve both been waitin’ by the phone like Marcus in the movie Boomer Rang.
The Pacers ran in the other room and broke up with Rodney Stuckey. Ole boy could hoop but he stayed hurt all of the time! He was no good to a boy bein’ hurt every 4 days.
So now that the Pacers and Lance have kissed and made up. How humble will they both be? They both should be singin’ each other’s praises right now for hollerin’ back at each other. And on some real talk, Lance should be doin’ EVERYTHING and more that they ask him to do. That dun should be tapin’ boyz ankles, stretching’ boyz out and puttin’ the freakin’ air in the balls in the mornin’. He should be happy to have a darn job with what he’s been the through over the past two seasons. Stop me when I start lyin’!
