Oklahoma holds off Texas in the battle for the Golden Hat! “Track Meet”

"You already know bruh!"

Ida B. Wells once said, “Brave men do not gather by thousands to torture and murder a single individual, so gagged and bound he cannot make even feeble resistance or defense.” James Madison gave it to us like this, “A well regulated militia, composed of the body of the people, trained in arms, is the best most natural defense of a free country.” Then Malcolm X put it where the goats can get it when he spit, “Power in defense of freedom is greater than power in behalf of tyranny and oppression, because power, real power, comes from our conviction which produces action, uncompromising action.”

Well playas…neither defenses played with conviction because there was no action on that side of the ball when Oklahoma and Texas squared off in the Red River Showdown in Dallas on Saturday afternoon. Oklahoma held the Longhorns off 45-40 as we watched a freakin’ track meet for 3 and a half hours.

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! Durin’ the first half it looked like boyz would play some defense! It was 14-13 at the break with OU up! Then boyz came out of the locker room for the second half without their defenses!! It was like bein’ at the Penn Relays or something bruh! I had to keep my head on a swivel just to keep up with this foolishness.

From a statistical standpont Oklahoma dominated the ball game but they kept shootin’ themselves in the foot. No way should Texas have even been in this ball game. The Sooners put up 672 total yards versus 425! Baker Mayfield threw for 390 yards vs Shane Buechele’s 245. OU’s DeDe Westbrook set a school record with 10 catches, 232 yards and 3 touchdowns. Oklahoma rushed for 282 yards versus 180!! Samaje Perine went nuts on a boy with 34 carries, 214 yards and 2 touchdowns for the Sooners. Time of possession favored OU with more than 35 minutes with Texas only havin’ it for a little more than 24 minutes!! However, 4 dull turnovers significantly impacted the Sooners.

Now don’t get it twisted playboy, it was a great game from a fan standpoint! They called the Red River Shootout for years for a reason!! Well, that’s not really why it was called that but it sounded good! I picked OU to wet the bed in this one because they tend to do that. However, they proved me wrong.

Now Charlie Strong has to deal with the backlash of losin’ yet another game. I just believe that boyz need to pull a Snoop Dogg and back up off of him and sit their cups down. He’ll be fine at Texas if they give him room to do his thing. Stop me when I start lyin’!

Playas Thesaurus:

1) Spit: verb – to say

2) Dun: noun – the person in question, dude, guy, etc. It’s whoever I’m talkin’ about and its non-gender specific.

3) Put it where the goats can get it: verb phrase – to make it as elementary as possible. To put it at ground level so everyone can understand it.
