North Central’s Kevin O’Shea is slowly transmormin’ it back to it’s old self! “A Winner”

"Kevin O'Shea has boyz believin' in somethin' that's real bruh!" Photo: WISHTV.com

In just three ball games of the 2017 season the North Central Panthers are startin’ to look like something that the duns on the northeast side of town can recognize. They’ve started the season with a record of 2-1 after winnin’ two straight by knockin’ off Fishers and Hamilton Southeastern. Then they were brought back to reality to remind them that they aren’t quite there yet when they ran over to Warren Central last week and got their doors blew off by the second ranked team in the state.

That’s completely okay though bruh! Returnin’ a program to a respectable place takes time and a few lumps along the way. Keep in mind that before beatin’ Pike last season to win their only game of the season, they were on a 28 game losin’ streak!!! They fell down a rabbit hole that boyz couldn’t get them out of for years.

Then someone got the bright idea to go get one of the best coaches in the state that happened to be hidin’ in plain sight. Kevin O’Shea was the head coach of Lafayette Central Catholic where he’d posted a record of 114-10 over a nine year period and he’d walked away with 5 Class A State Championships in the process.

Now he’s got the Panthers of North Central believin’ that they can win in just three weeks. Now granted, he’s been puttin’ in work with these kids since the spring but you get what I’m sayin’. What he’s done in three weeks to the psyche of the entire student body is remarkable.

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! When people that aren’t even on the football team believe that the team can win then they’re movin’ in the right direction. When the team walks into the buildin’ on Friday night believin’ that they are just as worthy of winnin’ tonight as the dun on the other side of the ball. Boyz are goin’ in the right direction.

Keepin’ it all in perspective, losin’ to Warren Central was simply a wake up call that there is work to be done and we aren’t finished becomin’ what we want to become. However, we aren’t as bad as we used to be. That’s real talk bruh.

I’ve got them picked to beat Lawrence North this week because of the plethora of weapons the Panthers have. Quarterback Liam Thompson is doin’ work by puttin’ up 224 yards per game and throwin’ to a couple of studs at wide out; Tre’von Elliott and Cole Maguire. George Stokes ain’t playin’ this season totin’ the rock and D.J. Johnson, one of the best defensive backs in the state is doin’ what he does.

All of these cats are playin’ with crazy confidence and the swag is through the roof. Sure, they’re 2-1 comin’ off of big loss at Warren Central but they’ll play with a bolder in their shoulders at home this week and come out of the joint 3-1 poppin’ collars ready for Center Grove and the “War Horse” next week.

Well…maybe they ought to concentrate on Lawrence North first because they’ll have their hands full with Tre’ Bonds this week.

Big props to North Central for hirin’ a cat that knows how to win and stop me when I start lyin’!

Playas Thesaurus:

1) Dun: noun – the person in question, dude, guy, etc. It’s whoever I’m talkin’ about and its non-gender specific.

The G is excluded from the endings of all words because the G is near and dear to my heart because I’m from “The G” which is Gary, Indiana. So I only use the G when I’m talkin’ about “The G!”
