North Central’s Girlz hoop team is Amazin’! “Excuse Me For Not Knowin’!”

I’ve been coverin’ the Indiana Pacers since 2010 so I stay in the gym watchin’ basketball. I cover college hoops and football as well. So I know an athlete or two when I see them. This summer I decided to expand TheJayGravesReport into the world of high school athletics so that I could see the progression from high school to college to pro. I thought that it would be fun to see.

So I covered M.I.C. football this past season and I had more fun doin’ that than coverin’ pro or college sports. It was a complete blast. Now that it’s hoop season in the state of Indiana it’s about to turn up. I rolled through Ben Davis to check out the lil’/big homie Aaron Henry on Wednesday night as he and his Giants sprinted through Franklin Central.

While I was there I heard boyz talkin’ about the Girls Marion County Tournament that would feature North Central vs. Ben Davis at BD on Thursday. So I decided to stop through. What I saw once I got there blew my mind!

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! No.2 North Central is a juggernaut bruh!! I guess everybody and their baby’s momma knew but me right? They were off of the charts last year but I wasn’t coverin’ girlz high school basketball. They’ve got hoopers all over the floor and two in particular stood out like sore thumbs. Junior guards Rikki Harris and Savaya Brockington were puttin’ in work on these girlz on both ends of the floor.

Savaya Brockington runnin’ the show like a veteran.

Nikki plays incredible defense and can take a girl to the rack in a minute, shoot the rock with her eyes closed and has a presence on the floor like she owns the joint. Confidence is ninety percent of the game at this level.

Savaya was handlin’ the rock like a veteran and knew exactly what to do with it. Bruh…these girlz were amazin’ as they beat Ben Davis 63-44 on their home court. I wasn’t plannin’ on coverin’ boyz and girlz hoops this season because I’ve still got college and pro responsibilities but with talent like this in and around the city I’m about to be ALL in. I guess I won’t be sleepin’ this winter because if teams are goin’ to be as fun as this to watch it’ll be worth it. Stop me when I start lyin’!

Playas Thesaurus:

1) Dun: noun – the person in question, dude, guy, etc. It’s whoever I’m talkin’ about and its non-gender specific.

2) Put it where the goats can get it: verb phrase – to make it as elementary as possible. To put it at ground level so everyone can understand it.

3) Ole boy or ole girl: noun – the person that I’m currently talkin’ about.

The G is excluded from the endings of all words because the G is near and dear to my heart because I’m from “The G” which is Gary, Indiana. So I only use the G when I’m talkin’ about “The G!”
