No.3 Purdue beats Wisconsin to extend win streak to 14!

West Lafayette, Ind.- The No.3 Purdue Boilermakers have taken their winning streak to 14 games with a 78-50 win over Wisconsin on Tuesday night. The Boilermakers (18-2, 7-0 Big Ten) now match the best 20-game record in school history.

They didn’t have trouble getting started in the first half with a 12-0 run with all trifectas to start the game. Purdue then pushed the lead to 23-4 at the 10:18 mark in the first half off the leadership of sophomore guard Carsen Edwards who finished the game with game high 21 points, 3 assists, and 5 steals.

Slow to start the second half, senior Vincent Edwards turned up the volume on both the defensive and offensive side of the ball. Edwards ended the game with 20 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists.

Wisconsin (9-10 ,2-4) finished the game with 20 turnovers. Purdue causing 15 of those in the first half which is the Badgers previous high. Ethan Happ had 15 points, 7 assists, and 6 rebounds to lead the Badgers.

Purdue’s shooting has carried them all season and last night wasn’t any different. The Boilermakers shot 51 percent from the field with 14 of 22 from the three-point range. The Boilers remain undefeated in the Big Ten which hasn’t happened since 1987-88.

Purdue will have three tough games to follow, on the road at Iowa, home against Michigan, and one on the road against rival Indiana University.
