The difference between good football teams and great ones are coachin’ and the horses in the stable. Alabama proved on Monday night that the rich keeps gettin’ richer. The more they win the more great players they show up with which allows them to keep winnin’. On Monday night they won their fifth national championship since 2009 in an overtime thriller 26-23 over Georgia.
I wrote a crazy Hot Joint on Monday prior to the championship game entitled “Vicious Cycle” explainin’ that very concept. Unlike in the NFL, when you win in college you have the luxury of signin’ the best players in the country which allows you to keep winnin’. That concept was on full display Monday night.
Startin’ Bama quarterback Jalen Hurts had no answer for the Georgia defense because they’d pretty much contained the run therefore forcin’ him to throw the football. Everybody and their baby’s momma knows that even though he’s been 25-2 as a starter he couldn’t throw the football. Bama went to the break down 13-0 with no answer for the Bulldogs.
That’s when coachin’ kicked in and good ole Nick wasn’t worried about a boy’z feelings. He pulled the quarterbacks together at the half and told Hurts that he was goin’ to sit the rest of this dance out. He was goin’ with the true freshman Tua Tagovailoa because he could throw the football better. This ain’t personal playboy, it’s business. We’ve got a national championship to win.
Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! Most teams in America are playin’ the very best they have. They would have had to suffer through with Jalen Hurts but Bama had another Thoroughbred waitin’ in the stable.
Ole boy came in with all of the pressure of havin’ to win a national championship on his back in one half of football. His team is bein’ shut out and down 13 points. No problem! Did I mention that he was a TRUE freshman that’s played nothin’ but clean up duty all season and now he’s gotta lead the team to the national championship? I wanted to make sure you were payin’ attention to this foolishness.
With 6:52 left in the third quarter Bama is down 20-7 with a true freshman at the helm that hasn’t played significant minutes all season. Horses!!! Ole boy finished the night 14 of 24 for 166 yards and three touchdowns. Sure he threw a dull pick but he’s human. He kept his composure and balled out.
He got the Crimson Tide into overtime and after Georgia went up by a field goal all of the pressure was on him again. After takin’ a sack and losin’ significant yardage the dun turned right around and threw a 41 yard walk off touchdown to another true freshman DeVonta Smith to win the national championship. Bruh…that catch was the only reception Smith had on the night. TRUE FRESHMAN!!! What did I start this joint off with? The rich keeps gettin’ richer!!! Hats off to Nick Saban and Co. for doin’ work! Stop me when I start lyin’!
