As part of my tour around to all of the schools in the M.I.C. (Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference) to cover the best football conference in the state this year. I’m coverin’ every aspect of the game playa not just what’s goin’ on between the lines but how hyped the student sections are.
So durin’ the Week 2 schedule I was at Pike gettin’ it in with boyz as they beat the brakes off of Fishers 43-0. One thing that I found out is that they sure know how to have a good time at Stadium led by the Pike Student section which was stayed “Lit” all night.
Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! A week ago I was at Warren Central and “The Pit,” which is the name of their student section, was NUTS!!! So bein’ the competitor that I am I sent a message to the @PikeSeniors2018 Twitter handle to see if they were up to the challenge. Don’t let Warren Central make y’all look bad. I figured they weren’t goin’ to let “The Pit” just run away with the best student section in the M.I.C. without a fight right?
Well playas…Pike responded like some real G’s!! Now I’ve got to say that they didn’t have the crowd that Warren Central had because their team didn’t start the season ranked No.3 in the state nor were they ranked in the Top 25 in the country to kick things off. Let’s put it where the goats can get it bruh. It’s easy to show up and cheer for your team when they’re a powerhouse EVERY year!! The fan base is established and all boyz have to do is jump on the bandwagon.
However, Pike was comin’ off of a tough loss Week 1 to Zionsville and they didn’t win a game all last season. So therefore, I’m not crazy enough to believe that they would have the same type of crowd that Warren had.
However, I was most impressed with the fact that they were gettin’ it in from the word go not knowin’ how good the Red Devils were goin’ to play!!! They get mad props for that alone bruh!! Yes the crowd was smaller but they were every bit as crunk. To support your classmates even when they haven’t been winnin’ gets a boy/girl major props!!
By the time Pike scored their first touchdown on their openin’ drive the joint was NUTS!!! The DJ was playin’ all the right joints and the kids were goin’ crazy. They never sat down the entire game!!! That’s major! Even when the game decided at like 24-0 early in the third quarter. Most time duns will bounce or start walkin’ around. They did none of that.
Yeah bruh, Pike was off the chain and they’ve got a shot at bein’ the best in the city at the end of the season.
Y’all do realize that I’m goin’ to pick the best student section in the city at the end of the season!! So Pike and Warren Central have put it down in Week’s 1 and 2. Next stop is to Ben Davis to see what the The Purple Rain has to offer. Let’s get it in and stop me when I start lyin’!
