Duns are puttin’ in work all over the Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference better known to all the real playas as the MIC! On Monday I had a chance to stop by and check out the Lawrence North Wildcats in their new digs!! Superintendent Dr. Shawn Smith put the district’s money where his mouth is and now they’re about to play in what looks like football’s version of the Taj Mahal. The stadium and the new facilities are on fiyyyah!!! That’s enough to build the confidence of the entire program. However, boyz still gotta show up and put in work to win.

That’s why Coach Pat Mallory couldn’t be more excited to talk about the upcomin’ season and he was chompin’ at the bit to tell Ya Boy about it. He talked about his team gettin’ bigger, stronger and faster over the offseason and bein’ dedicated to the grind. He also told me about the next man up mentality that boyz have to show up with everyday. Check out his passion for his team and the process that he respects goin’ into the 2017 season.

Coach Mal says that he has 43 juniors and most of them have crazy experience because they played as sophomores. Now wheredeydodatat? That’s NUTS! To be able to have that type of experience from your junior class is both incredible and promisin’. That sets the Wildcats up for success for the not only this season but for next season as well. I can’t wait to see these cats get at it on August 18th at Noblesville. Why? Because Coach Mal had me ready to run through a wall while I was interviewin’ him. I loved the passion and confidence that he had for his team just a week into fall camp. That energy is contagious.

The Wildcats want to play “Fast and Physical” this year so boyz better boot up when they show up. I can’t wait to see them take the field for the 2017 season. Good luck fellas and stop me when I start lyin’!

Playas Thesaurus:

1) Dun: noun – the person in question, dude, guy, etc. It’s whoever I’m talkin’ about and its non-gender specific.

2) Fiyyyah: adjective – tight, looks good

3) Ya Boy: noun – me

4) Wheredeydodatat?: Hood for “Who does that?”

5) Boot Up: verb phrase – to be prepared, to get ready for it to go down bruh.

The G is excluded from the endings of all words because the G is near and dear to my heart because I’m from “The G” which is Gary, Indiana. So I only use the G when I’m talkin’ about “The G!”

The caption under the photo is real talk today!
