Well playas…the Lawrence Central Bears are lookin’ to kick the doors in like the feds in the projects at 5 o’clock in the mornin’ on these boyz in 2017. You can sleep on them if you want but they’re comin’ in whether you unlock the door or not. After postin’ their first winnin’ season in four years in 2016 the Bears are lookin’ to build on that success.

On Wednesday evenin’ after a great practice I had a chance to chop it up with second-year head coach Bill Peebles on his thoughts on the upcomin’ season. In first season with the Bears he completely turned the culture of losin’ over the previous 4 seasons on it’s ear to post a 6-5 record. Now don’t get it twisted, Lawrence Central won the state Class 5A title in 2012. So the program knows how to win. That’s why I say that boyz are more than ready to build on that. Here’s what coach Peebles had to say about gettin’ it in this season:

The Bears will start the season with several players on the American Family Insurance All-USA Indy-area Preseason Super Team!! Senior quarterback Donyell Meredith completed 63 percent of his passes throwin’ for 2,233 yards and 26 touchdowns last season as a junior. That’s NUTS!!!

On defense they’ll be led by the all-everything senior linebacker Cameron McGrone who’s already committed to play at Michigan in the Big House. He had 52 tackles with 15 and 1/2 of them for a loss in just six games. Wheredeydodatat? Then they’ve got a ball hawk that can find the rock like a heat seekin’ missile in Manny Bellamy. Ole boy is a 6’1″ 180-pound free safety that boyz don’t wanna see comin’ down hill. Trust me on that bruh! He recorded 68 tackles as a junior, includin’ three for a loss and six pass deflections. If that’s not enough you’ve got to deal with Branson Deen the 6’3″ 250-pound beast that’s headed to Purdue next year on the defensive line.

All I’m sayin’ is, don’t sleep on these cats or Bears I should say, because they are the real deal. It should be fun in the MIC this year because out of the AP Top 10 teams in the state, five of them play in the MIC. The Bears open on Friday at Lafayette Mccutcheon. Again, duns better not sleep on these boyz and stop me when I start lyin’!

Playas Thesaurus:

1) Wheredeydodatat?: Hood for “Who does that?”

2) Dun: noun – the person in question, dude, guy, etc. It’s whoever I’m talkin’ about and its non-gender specific.

The G is excluded from the endings of all words because the G is near and dear to my heart because I’m from “The G” which is Gary, Indiana. So I only use the G when I’m talkin’ about “The G!”
