Well playas…IT’S FOOTBALL TIME IN INDIANA and the No.4 Center Grove Trojans are ready to kick off the 2017 season with unfinished business on the table. They lost the state championship to Carmel last season in a thriller at Lucas Oil Stadium that was decided in overtime 16-13 by a Connor Coghlan field goal.
So they’ve had the entire off-season to use as motivation to become an even better team this year. Now bein’ good hasn’t been hard for this program over the past decade or so. They’ve become one of the best high school football programs in the country and boyz around the MIC already know what it is when it’s Center Grove week. I had a chance to chop it up with head coach Eric Moore to get his thoughts on the upcomin’ season. Check it out:
Even though this current team will be the most inexperienced group Center Grove has assembled in more than 12 years they’ve still got some horses. It’s crazy that a program can have an inexperienced team comin’back and still be ranked No.4 in the state. That tells you everything you want to know about how GOOD coach Moore and his staff is.
Coach Moore knows that the inexperience will be a factor this year but he still believes in his guys!
Junior, Jackson Moore will take over the reigns at quarterback with junior runnin’ back Cam Petty totin’ the rock along with junior Sam Hohlt at the wingback. The big boyz up front will be led by senior tackle A.J. Snow in the buildin’!! I love that name for a football player. Sounds like a superstar!!
The defense will be in good hands with senior defensive ends Austin Daming and Cole Williams! Call them the book ends bruh because they can get it done.
There’s no room for tryin’ to figure out who’s on first or what’s on second because they’re kickin’ the season off SEC style. They kick off in conference play on the road with one of the top dawgs in the state, the No.3 Warren Central Warriors!! Talk about gettin’ it in on day one playa!!! If you weren’t plannin’ to be at Warren Central on Friday you better make plans playa! Good luck to the Trojans in 2017 and stop me when I start lyin’!
