Indiana had everything it needed to beat Michigan on Saturday but Reese Taylor! “Can’t Wait!”

The last time the Indiana Hoosiers beat the Michigan Wolverines in Bloomington I was a junior down there livin’ in Wilkie Hall! It was rainin’ like cats and dogs and my roommate and I stood outside of Memorial Stadium all mornin’ hustlin’ for tickets. Our homeboy from G.I., Erick Campbell, was the startin’ corner for the Wolverines. We had to see him play. Finally this older gentleman walked up to us with two tickets on the 50 yard line and told us that they were free!!! We couldn’t believe it bruh!!

It was an ugly game because the rain kept both teams from gettin’ anything goin’. The Hoosiers eventually won the joint 14-10 and we stormed the field, tore the north goal post down and ran out of the stadium with it! We got up to 17th and Fee Lane and got tired. We didn’t know what to do with it so we left it on the corner and went to the crib. One of the greatest Saturday football memories of my college experience.

Well playas…with 3:27 remainin’ in the game on Saturday the Hoosiers closed the gap to 20-17 on a Peyton Ramsey 8 yard touchdown pass to Whop Philyor. I left the press box to be in the crowd because 30 years later it looked like it was about to be chaos all over again bruh and I wasn’t goin’ to miss it!! As time ran out in regulation Griffin Oaks tied the joint up with a 46 yard field goal and boyz went nuts!! Could this be happenin’ all over again 30 years later?

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! It was NUTS in Bloomington on a perfect day for football!! The Hoosiers played an excellent game relative to what they had on the field. Let’s face it bruh. Michigan has better players across the board but the Hoosiers showed up. Well, take that back, Michigan shot itself in the foot all day with penalties. They finished with 16 penalties for 141 yards. They were tryin’ to give the joint away.  IU just didn’t have the personnel at quarterback to take advantage of their generosity.

On the first play of overtime Karan Higdon went 20 yards for the score to go up 27-20. The Hoosiers get the rock and couldn’t change four quarters for a paper dollar bill at a car wash. They went four and out with Ramsey throwin’ the dull pick on fourth down to close out the game.

The Hoosiers had everything it needed to pull the monumental upset but Ben Davis’ Reese Taylor, the eventual 2017 Mr. Football that has already committed to play for the Hoosiers. The quarterback play hurt the Hoosiers all day. A couple a weeks ago head coach Tom Allen announced that they would be playin’ Reese at quarterback when it gets to town in 2018 and it was a no brainer.

He’s Antwaan Randle El all over again bruh and that’s what IU needed on Saturday. Ramsey was lost all day and was never poised or in control. Sure, he put up 198 passin’ but he was never settled and couldn’t do a thing with the rock when pressured or when the defense backs covered well. I was a nervous wreck all day.

I don’t know how many times the dun threw it out of bounds because he had no wheels when he had runnin’ room. I can’t wait until the young thunder cat from Ben Davis gets down there. Oh you think I just talkin’ crazy? As a junior in the best conference in the state and one of the Top 14 conferences in the country the dun completed 66 percent of his passes for a mind blowin’ 2,730 yards and 24 touchdowns. Then he put up another 961 yards on the ground for an additional 23 touchdowns!!

As a senior this year with potentially another four games left because they’re goin’ to win the state title. Why? Because there isn’t a team breathin’ that’s worthy of bein’ on the field with them at this point. Ole boy has already put up 2,171 yards and 29 touchdowns in the air and another 398 and 8 touchdowns on the ground and he’s not finished yet!!!

I felt like runnin’ ole boy into the Hoosier locker room and puttin’ a darn uniform on him durin’ the fourth quarter. He was visitin’ the game as a recruit even though he’s already committed to play in Bloomington like I said earlier. Folks just don’t understand that havin’ a dual threat like that will help the Hoosiers knock off a bunch of cats comin’ in sleepin’. In my Bart Scott voice, “Can’t wait!!!!” for Reese Taylor to put on the Cremson and Cream!! Sing it with me, “Oh Indiana! Oh Indiana!! We will fight for Old IU…..” Stop me when I start lyin’!

Note: For y’all that’s checkin’ I went to both Indiana and Purdue!! I graduated from IU in 1990 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Science, School of Physical Education. I tell you that because you will hear me talk about both schools from time to time.

Playas Thesaurus:

1) G.I.: noun – Gary, Indiana

1) Dun: noun – the person in question, dude, guy, etc. It’s whoever I’m talkin’ about and its non-gender specific.

2) Ole boy: noun – the person that I’m currently talkin’ about.

The G is excluded from the endings of all words because the G is near and dear to my heart because I’m from “The G” which is Gary, Indiana. So I only use the G when I’m talkin’ about “The G!”
