How Mark Hughes had an OJ moment that almost got him killed! “Right”

"I don't know what I was thinkin' about bruh?"

Theodore Roosevelt once said, “In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing, the next best thing is the wrong thing, and the worst thing you can do is nothing.” Plato gave it to us like this, “A good decision is based on knowledge and not on numbers.” Then Tony Robbins, the motivational speaker, broke it down like a playa at a pimp convention when he spit, “It is in your moments of decision that your destiny is shaped.”

Well playas…it was in that moment that Mark Hughes figured out that his ability to make good decisions didn’t exist. For those of you that don’t know who this dun is, he’s the cat that was falsely accused of shootin’ and killing the Dallas police officers on Wednesday night. He found his picture plastered all over social media as the primary suspect for the killings in Dallas. Why? Because he showed up to the protest wearin’ a camouflage T-shirt carryin’ a AR-15 assault rifle because in his own words he had the “right” to carry it. He had a permit to carry and the state of Texas is an open carry state.

Well let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! Just because you’ve got the right to do something playboy doesn’t mean that it’s a good idea to do it bruh! That dun was on CNN Friday and Don Lemon asked him the legitimate question of why did he think that it made sense to show up at a protest with a freakin’ assault rifle and this dun and his brother had the nerve to act like they were offended. Wheredeydodatat?

I guess he either forgot or didn’t realize that he still lived in America. Sure, he’s got the “right” to carry the freakin’ gun but that very “right” could have gotten him killed with no questions asked. Five cops were just killed and you’re the only visible person carryin’ an assault rifle! Good luck with that bruh!

Then I hear other black folks hollerin’, “Well white folks openly carry guns in Texas all of the time and the police don’t accuse them of bein’ a threat!” What world do you fools live in bruh? The rules for white folks in America aren’t the same rules that black folks live by! Where are you from?  Have you been sleepin’ under a rock your entire life. Did you not see Tamir Rice playin’ with a toy gun and get murdered by Cleveland police two years ago? Did you not just see Philando Castile get murdered by police after tellin’ the dun that he had a license to carry and that he was simply reachin’ for his license and registration?

I’ve been black in America for darn near 5 decades bruh! We don’t get the same passes white folks get because the rules are slanted. So don’t tell me what you have the “right” to do. I’m just an O.G. tryin’ to keep you alive.
But yo dumb “A” decides to show up at a protest that is against the behavior of the police with an assault rifle and a camouflage T-shirt. Then all of a sudden somebody starts pickin’ off police officers and you can’t figure out why your face is plastered all over the freakin’ news as the suspect? Did you have an O.J. moment and forgot that you were actually black when you picked up the gun to leave the house bruh? You had to believe for a spit second that you weren’t black on Wednesday right? You had to think that you had turned into a white man in America right? Did you think that you were one of the white men in Oregon that took over the Federal buildin’ in Oregon or something? And yeah, they killed a boy after pleadin’ with him for two weeks to put the guns down and leave. They killed Tamire Rice within 2 seconds bruh and he had a toy gun.

So did you really think that you could show up with a gun, be black and not be a threat? Did you really think that bruh? REALLY? Because no rational thinkin’ black man says, “I’ve got the right to carry a gun openly so I’m goin’ to show up at a protest against the police with my gun!” If you thought that made sense you need to be committed.

Where is this cat’s father, uncles, grandpa or friends with good sense? If it hadn’t been for his brother we would be readin’ ole boy’s obituary this mornin’! Just because you’ve got the “right” to do something doesn’t mean that it makes sense to do it. Like I told you boyz the other day in the Hot Joint entitled “G Code” when KD signed with Golden State. I said that he would forever be known as Bobby Womack to all the real G’s out here because he violated the code. He had the legal “right” to sign with them but it was foul. Here’s the deal bruh, Bobby Womack married Sam Cook’s widow after he died. Now they were the best of friends while he was alive. So legally Bobby had the “right” to marry ole girl but it was foul and ignorant that he did.

So yes, Mark Hughes had the “right” to carry an assault rifle to a protest but it was stupid and ignorant to do so. Why? Because he could have gotten himself killed and when he matures as a man he’ll realize that. Thank God that his brother had more sense than he did and connect the dots before ole boy lost his life out there. Stop me when I start lyin’!
