All too often the media will focus on the negative image of our young black men. Let them tell it everybody’s ignorant, shiftless, and worthless to society. Main stream media suggests that the “successful” young black male has to play ball or rap. They’ll be quick to tell you about a dun gettin’ arrested or goin’ broke. Don’t let a cat miss a child support payment or say somethin’ crazy in a post game presser. It’ll be on EVERY station in America with the caption, “I told you we shouldn’t have taken a chance on him!”
But let a boy do the amazin’ and they’ll act like the dun was never born. On Friday, it was announced that former Florida State football star Myron Rolle will start his neurosurgery residency at Harvard Medical School. He’ll also be puttin’ in work at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston in July. However, nobody paused to tell that story. Sure, a couple of outlets glossed over it but they didn’t give the lil’ homie his props for doin’ somethin’ that very few people, black or white, are capable of doin’.
Not only is he about to start his residency after bein’ on an NFL roster for three years. He graduated from FSU in three years and deferred the NFL for a year because he was a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford. He was then drafted by Tennessee Titans and remained on their roster for three years. Sure, the dun didn’t play but that’s not the point. He was good enough to be in the NFL even with all of that brain. He’s a freakin’ genius! Would you have wanted to see him play and damage that precious brain foolin’ around with somethin’ as insignificant as football?
He’s got bigger plans to worry about playa. Once he was done with football he went to medical school but none of that was worthy of makin’ the headlines.
Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! The dun is studyin’ to become as neurosurgeon!!! His residency is goin’ to take seven years bruh! OUTSTANDING!!! Since none of these fake media-types are goin’ to prop him up I will.
