Dabo Swinney needs to stop talkin’ until he researches MLK and Jesus! “Protest”

"Yeah I'm up here all in the weeds bruh! Help!!"

John C. Maxwell, the author, speaker and pastor, once said, “There are two kinds of pride, both good and bad. ‘Good pride’ represents our dignity and self-respect. ‘Bad pride’ is the deadly sin of superiority that reeks of conceit and arrogance.” Samuel Butler, the Victorian-era English author, gave it to us like this, “The truest characters of ignorance are vanity and pride and arrogance.” Then Chris Lowe, the famous actor, put it where the goats could get it when he spit, “Stupidity combined with arrogance and a huge ego will get you a long way.”

Well playas…that’s proven to be the case when it comes to Clemson head football coach, Dabo Swinney! This dun is full of stupidity, arrogance and a HUGE ego!! And guess what playa? It’s gotten him a long way. On Tuesday some fake media-type simply asked him if he would discipline his players if they took a seat durin’ the National Anthem. He said that he wouldn’t and that he believes the player would have the right to do it. Ole boy should have stopped right there and gone to freakin’ practice or home somewhere.

Then the dun went on a 10 minute soliloquy into the Land of OZ without Dorothy’s shoes. He started referencin’ Martin Luther King Jr. and Jesus as his examples for changin’ the world when he doesn’t understand that they were two of the most hated men on this earth because of their ability to protest.

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! Both MLK and Jesus challenged the status quo and protested authority to the point where they were killed for bein’ defiant peaceably. Dabo was up there tryin’ to teach boyz but he was lost himself. He had the audacity to say, “It’s funny that when we don’t learn from our past that we repeat our mistakes.”

Okay bruh, what past did he learn from if he’s tryin’ to reference MLK after sayin’ that Kaepernick was wrong for protestin’ what he strongly believes is racial injustice? Dabo said out of his OWN mouth, “I don’t think there’s been a better man or better leader than Martin Luther King, Jr.”  So that’s his guy right?

Hold up dawg! Dabo must be thinkin’ about Miss Ruthie Mae’s MLK from Detroit that works down at the car wash or something. Because he couldn’t be talkin’ about MLK, Sr. and Mrs Alberta’s MLK from Atlanta that went to Morehouse College, pledged Alpha Phi Alpha and married Obediah and Bernice’s daughter Corretta.  Naw, he couldn’t be talkin’ about him because that dun stayed in jail all over the south in the 1950’s and ’60’s for protestin’. He couldn’t be talkin’ about the dun that kept on leadin’ marches that people called acts of civil disobedience that caused riots on more than one occasion. Not him bruh!!

MLK at the height of his movement was Al Sharpton on steroids playa. He was the most hated man in America but Dabo wants to stand up in front of a bunch mindless media-types and say that Kaepernick is wrong for peaceably protestin’ racial injustice in America. Wheredeydodatat?

Then he has the boldness to say that if people don’t like America that they should leave. Isn’t that the very statement that folks were tellin’ MLK and his counterparts durin’ the Civil Rights Movement? Well I guess that’s the sensible thing to say when you’re the head football coach at a major university and 80 percent of your roster looks like Kaepernick and his cousin’s on his daddy’s side of the family. And more likely than not they feel the same way about racial injustice and the police shootings of unarmed cats that look just like them too. Not to mention all of the recruits that will be visitin’ his campus in the comin’ weeks and months. I’d say that was real smart wouldn’t you?

It blows my mind that a white cat that makes more than $5 million per year coachin’ a team that is more than 80 percent black would make those kinds of statements and be so cavalier about it.

Oh, so you thought that I was gonna bounce without remindin’ you boyz that Jesus was a hated man too? C’mon bruh! It was the religious people that killed Jesus not some thugs hangin’ out on the block. He challenged the status quo in the religious community and the pharisees set my man up. Why? Because he was spoke of protest! He challenged the thinkin’ of the elite.  The Word of God says boldly in Proverbs 31:9 “Open your mouth, judge righteously, defend the rights of the poor and needy.” While Dabo is talkin’ about bein’ a Christian is that not what the word says. How about readin’ Proverbs 21:13 when it says, “Whoever closes his ear to the cry of the poor will himself call out and not be answered.” Oh don’t forgot about Matthew 12:19-21 which says, “He will not quarrel or cry aloud, nor will anyone hear his voice in the streets; a bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not quench, until he brings justice to victory; and in his name the Gentiles will hope.” That’s protest bruh!!!

So unless Dabo is willin’ to actually do his homework on MLK and Jesus I don’t think that he should use them as examples to try to prove why Colin Kaepernick is wrong from protestin’ for the sake of racial injustice in this country. Stop me when I start lyin’!

Playas Thesaurus:

1) Spit: verb – to say

2) Dun: noun – the person in question, dude, guy, etc. It’s whoever I’m talkin’ about and its non-gender specific.

3) Put it where the goats can get it: verb phrase – to make it as elementary as possible. To put it at ground level so everyone can understand it.
