“This makes no sense bruh!”
Robert Kennedy once said, “What has violence ever accomplish? What has it ever created? No martyr’s cause has ever been stilled by an assassin’s bullet. No wrongs have ever been righted by riots and civil disorders. A sniper is only a coward, not a hero; and an uncontrolled or uncontrollable mob is only the voice of madness, not the voice of the people.” Nelson Mandela gave it to us like this, “People respond in accordance to how you relate to them. If you approach them on the basis of violence, that’s how they’ll react. But if you say, ‘We want peace, do a lot of things that will contribute towards the progress of our society.” Martin Luther King Jr. once said, “Nonviolence means avoiding not only external physical violence but also internal violence of spirit. You not only refuse to shoot a man, but you refuse to hate him.”
Well playas…these dun out here in these streets are out of control and Chi-town is leadin’ the way. Chicago is so out of control that ESPN’s The Undefeated held a panel discussion on violence this week at the South Side YMCA. Not twenty four hours after Dwyane Wade, who is a Chicago native now playin’ for the Bulls, spoke on the panel. His cousin Nykea Aldridge, 32, was shot in the head and killed while simply walkin’ down the street Friday 3:30pm.
Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! This woman was shot in broad daylight bruh mindin’ her own business!! What’s up with these cats out here? Ole girl had just moved into the neighborhood and was simply goin’ to register her kids for school. I’m highlightin’ this homicide because D. Wade was just on TV talkin’ about the gun violence in the Chi but folks are dyin’ daily out there and it’s got to stop.
More than 2,600 people have been shot in Chicago so far this year and as of last Wednesday they’ve killed 463 people bruh!!! This has to stop. Our neighborhoods have turned into war zones and our children are at the largest risk than ever before. And what blows my mind is the dun standin’ on the outside lookin’ in screamin’ that black folks aren’t outraged by this violence.
Where are these fools from? I grew up in the middle of the ghetto and black folks have always been mad about these senseless killings. They don’t march and protest at the same level durin’ those circumstances because there isn’t anyone to protest against? The dun killin’ folks in the ghetto doesn’t work for a local, state or federal agency that is held to a standard of excellence. They weren’t sworn in to protect and serve!! The dun sellin’ drugs in the hood doesn’t work for the Drug Dealers Association of America funded by local and state tax dollars. The police are the only one’s that took an oath to protect and serve. So the fool runnin’ down the street shootin’ at boyz makes us all furious but what can we do?
EVERYBODY in the hood knows that Lil’ Shotgun and Man-Man is sellin’ all the drugs and killin’ everybody. But if you live in that neighborhood or your mother still lives there you can’t march and protest against them!! Why? Because you and/or yo momma will come up missin’! And anybody else that talks to the police! But if you’ve never been to the ghetto you wouldn’t know that. EVERYBODY in the hood is sick and tired of the violence but they can’t do a darn thing about it if they want to keep breathing because they don’t have the money to move. Is that real enough for you playboy?
And for all of the fools that want to show people that they’re smart by throwin’ numbers up that somebody else gave them. They’ll tell you that 93 percent of all black homicides are committed by other blacks. But what they don’t tell you is that 85 percent of all white homicides were committed by other whites. Why? Because people tend to get into arguments and fights with people that look like them because ethnicities typically run together. If the Italian cat gets into a fight at the bar with someone, the person he more likely than not is fightin’ and beefin’ with looks like him. Why? Because it’s the Italian bar that all of the Italians in the neighborhood frequent. No different than the black cat beefin’ with the dude down the street in the all black neighborhood that they both live in.
It’s ridiculous that a woman can get gunned down walkin’ her baby up the street. It doesn’t matter that her cousin was D Wade. The streets don’t ever care and nor do the bullets. We’re mad alright bruh! Fightin’ mad!! But the cat that killed her isn’t bein’ paid with tax dollars. So how do we protest without becomin’ victims ourselves? Stop me when I start lyin’!
1) Spit: verb – to say
2) Dun: noun – the person in question, dude, guy, etc. It’s whoever I’m talkin’ about and its non-gender specific.
3) Put it where the goats can get it: verb phrase – to make it as elementary as possible. To put it at ground level so everyone can understand it.
