Cavs GM sounds crazy tryin’ to defend their decision to sit boyz in Prime Time! “Money”

"Oh...we ain't playin' but we'll take your money tho!"

The NBA has been marketin’ the superstar appeal of it’s players since Bird and Magic saved the league in 1979. Ever since then they’ve been makin’ sure to tell anybody that would listen that it’s not about the teams playin’ but it’s about the superstar players on those teams. It’s always been Bird vs. Magic, Jordan vs. Zeke, Shaq vs. Tim Duncan, Kobe vs. LeBron, LeBron vs. Steph or whatever superstars are playin’ in the upcomin’ game. That’s been the formula for the NBA’s success for darn near 40 years.

Well playas…on Saturday night the Cavs rolled into LA to play the Clippers and they decided to rest their Big Three!!! Neither LeBron, Kyrie and Kevin Love played makin’ it the second consecutive Prime Time Saturday NBA game on ABC that had all of the superstars not play because of rest. Last week Golden State sat it’s boyz in San Antonio!! Steph, Draymond, Klay, and Iguodala all sat on a boy too.

So you already know that the NBA league office was salty as a bag of pretzels because they’re marketin’ this foolishness as a must see! They’re chargin’ boyz top dollar to advertise on Saturday nights because of the SUPERSTARS are supposed to be playin’!

ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne spoke with the Cavs general manager David Griffin after this foolishness and here’s what this dun had to say, “Yeah, and they’re paying me to win a championship. I’m not overly concerned about the perception of it. We literally had one guy rest tonight, and everybody else was reasonably injured, so I don’t feel like we did anything terribly egregious.”

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! David Griffin sounds like he’s standin’ on the roof of his buildin’ butt naked foamin’ at the mouth. The NBA isn’t payin’ him to win a championship, the Cavs are! The NBA is payin’ all of those duns to sell the darn product! The product is the freakin’ cats that they’ve been runnin’ commercials on all week for people to watch this foolishness.

The only reason everybody in free agency is makin’ obscene amounts of money now is because of the new TV deals that just kicked in. The NBA just signed a ridiculous TV contract that’s why duns like LeBron can make $30 million per year! Kevin Love is pullin’ down $21 million and Kyrie $17 million!!! Not because they were expected to sit when the league schedules a nationally televised game where sponsors are  payin’ stupid money to advertise. Now they’re sittin’ here fightin’ mad because nobody’s watchin’ this foolishness. As soon as boyz find out that LeBron, Kyrie and Love aren’t playin’ they’ve suddenly found something else to do with their Saturday evenin’.

If the league weren’t chargin’ for ad space or givin’ away free general admission tickets nobody would care. But they’re chargin’ a fortune to advertise and they aren’t givin’ away tickets bruh! You can’t charge a boy top dollar for ad space and tickets and then give them a watered down version of the product.

David Griffin sounds like a complete maniac even tryin’ to suggest that it makes sense. Yes, the league would like to see the two best teams in the Finals because they would sell more ad space because of the amount of eye balls on the product. I get that!! But what all of these cats are missin’ is that it’s not the NCAA Tournament. The two best teams are ALWAYS goin’ to be in the Finals. Why? Because the NBA Playoffs are set up with the best of seven series. You’ve got to win 4 times in order to advance. The best TEAM will ALWAYS win. In the NCAA Tournament all you’ve got to do is win one game to advance. So literally anybody can win one game bruh. However, the best team in the NBA ALWAYS wins.

So for Griffin to say that the league is payin’ “him” to win a championship was probably the dumbest thing ever spoken. Again, the league is payin’ EVERYBODY to put the product on the floor that they are sellin’ to these sponsors that are payin’ EVERYBODY’S salaries. Stop me when I start lyin’!
