Ain’t No More Next Year bruh! The Cubs Won This Year! “Finally”

"Boyz finally get to see the Cubs win!"

Pele pulled up eatin’ some Garrett’s Popcorn and said, “Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do.” Samuel Johnson walked up smashin’ a Chicago Polish with toppings fallin’ all over his shirt when he shouted, “Great works are performed not by strength but by perseverance.” Then John Quincy Adams ordered the 3 piece dinner with mild sauce on the side at Harold’s Chicken and he spit, Patience and perseverance have a magical effect before which difficulties disappear and obstacles vanish.”

Well playas…for Cubs fans all over the world the difficulties have finally disappeared and the obstacles have vanished as their lovable losers turned into winners on Wednesday night. In an epic Game 7 in Cleveland the Chicago Cubs finally won the World Series 8-7 in 10 innings endin’ the 108 year drought.

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! Growin’ up in “The G” just 10 minutes from the southside of the Chi everybody and their baby’s momma’s momma, Ms. Jackson, are Cubs fans except for me. I’ve never liked baseball and I sure wasn’t watchin’ the team that ALWAYS loses. It never made sense to me that people would religiously watch the Cubs lose EVERY year! And their response would be to a person, “Next year will be our year!”

I wrote a Crazy Hot Joint about a week ago entitled “Loyalty” where I explained to boyz that I wanted to see the Cubs win not because I was a fan but because of all of the people that I know that are Cubs fans. All of my family and friends who have lived and literally died as Cubs fans. Today is that day that they’ve been dreamin’ of their ENTIRE lives!! Ain’t no more next year bruh! Next year finally came.

Think about bruh, there isn’t a dun in Chicago or the surroundin’ area that has ever seen the Cubs win a championship before last night. Unless you run into Rip Van Winkle’s brother-n-law or something you aren’t gonna find him.

I’m just happy to look into the faces of duns that are 70, 80, 90 years old that have been the delusional fans believin’ in the Cubs their entire lives that finally get to see these fools win a championship. I saw my father-n-law watch the Cubs every day until his death has he literally turned my son into a fan not because he told him the Cubs were the team to cheer for but because that was their bondin’ time. My son knew that grandpa was watchin’ the Cubs and he wanted to hang out with him.

As much as I hate baseball I have a Cubs room in my house and it’s been there way before they ever won jack squat. Why? Because my son is a Cubs fan! It doesn’t get any better than that. It’s something to be said about people that are loyal and you’ve got to be loyal to be a Cubs fan. They’re like the wife that stays with a boy that gambles all of his bread away on payday and comes home broke with 10 different excuses in his mouth.

This mornin’ I’m thinkin’ about my dear friend who passed away this past summer named Jerome Ricketts. This cat grew up across the alley from me and was the biggest Cubs fan I’ve ever known. We would literally have to sit on his back porch and wait on the Cubs to finish playin’ because he wasn’t comin’ out until the final pitch. And they were losin’ bruh!! We’d hear him comin’ down the alley on the days we refused to wait on him sayin, “Back-Back-Back Hey-Hey Homerun!!!”  This dun was a true fan like 99.999% of folks in the Chicagoland area.

I’m smilin’ from ear to ear today for them because I don’t know what it’s like to cheer my whole life for a team that doesn’t win anything. That never made sense to me but I’m a logical thinkin’ individual. There’s only so much disappointment I’m goin’ to put up with. After about 6 or 7 years I’m pullin’ a Snoop Dogg on a boy. Ima back up off of you and sit my cup down. 108 years bruh? You’ve got to be crazy to still be in the car. I’m not talkin’ about a boy winnin’ it all! I’m talkin’ about simply makin’ the playoffs. There would be years that they wouldn’t even make the post-season.

So today I salute all of the Cubs fans for ridin’ like some G’s into a gang war every year without a gun or a knife. They’ve been wrestlin’ with a boy their entire lives with a banana and some firecrackers gettin’ the brakes beaten off of them and they kept comin’ back for more. That’s either bein’ insane or dumb but either way I’ve got tall respect for them this mornin’. Have fun and remember all of the cats that didn’t live to see the Cubs win it all. Stop me when I start lyin’!
